New React Native apps
We start most new projects with Expo, Expo Router for file-based navigation and TypeScript throughout. You get one repository, two store builds and a structure your future hires will recognize.
Real native screens driven by TypeScript, with business logic you can share with your React website. We build on the New Architecture and ship through Expo when it makes the release cycle faster.

SIZ Group is a React Native app development company in Austin, Texas, working with founders and product teams across the USA since 2018. We have designed and developed 678 apps for more than 465 clients, and React Native is our default recommendation when a company already runs a React web product and wants its mobile app to grow alongside it.
React Native is not a web page inside an app. Your components describe the interface in JavaScript or TypeScript, and React Native turns them into real UIKit views on iOS and real Android views on Android. Users get the native scroll physics, text input and accessibility behavior they expect, and your team keeps working in the React mental model it already knows.
The framework changed a lot in recent releases. The New Architecture, now the default, replaced the old asynchronous bridge with JSI, Fabric and Turbo Modules, and Hermes compiles JavaScript to bytecode at build time. A good partner should build on that foundation and know how to move older apps onto it.
Each service is shaped around how React Native actually works today, not how it worked five years ago.

Older apps built on the legacy bridge often have libraries that block upgrades. We audit every dependency, replace or patch the ones without Fabric and Turbo Module support, and move the app to a current React Native version in planned steps.
We set up a monorepo where API clients, validation schemas, data hooks and business rules live in shared packages. Your web and mobile apps then fix a pricing bug or add a field once, not twice.
When a feature needs a platform SDK that has no maintained package, we write it in Swift and Kotlin using the Expo Modules API or Turbo Modules. Codegen gives the JavaScript side typed access to that native code.
Slow React Native apps usually suffer from unnecessary re-renders, heavy lists or work on the JavaScript thread during animations. We profile with React DevTools and Hermes tools, then fix the cause with memoization, FlashList and Reanimated worklets.
With EAS Update we can ship JavaScript and asset fixes to users without waiting for a full store review. We configure channels and rollbacks, and keep updates within Apple and Google rules by never changing the app's core purpose this way.
Every React Native project eventually touches Xcode and Android Studio. Our React Native developers are hired from the top 4% of applicants and the team has more than ten years of collective experience across JavaScript, Swift and Kotlin, so a CocoaPods conflict or a Gradle build failure does not stall the project for days.
We are also honest about fit. If your app is mostly custom graphics with no web counterpart, Flutter may give a more consistent result. If it is a game, a heavy AR tool or a watch-first product, native code is the safer path. React Native is strongest when JavaScript mobile apps sit next to an existing React and TypeScript stack.

We look at your existing web code, API and design system to decide what can be shared. Every required device feature is checked against maintained libraries that support the New Architecture.
We define navigation, state and data fetching patterns, usually TanStack Query for server data and a light store such as Zustand for app state. Designers adapt your web components into touch-first mobile layouts.
Developers work in Expo development builds that include your custom native code. You receive regular builds through TestFlight and Google Play internal testing.
Jest and React Native Testing Library cover components and logic, while Maestro or Detox run end-to-end flows. We test on older Android hardware, where JavaScript performance problems show first.
EAS Build and EAS Submit produce signed binaries for both stores, and EAS Update handles small fixes afterward. Ongoing maintenance keeps React Native, Expo SDK and native dependencies current.
We pick from a modern, well-maintained set of libraries so your app is easy to upgrade later.
When customers use your web app at their desk and need a mobile companion on the go, shared TypeScript logic keeps both in step.
Car marketplaces and classified listings depend on search, filters and messaging that already exist on the web. Reusing those data layers shortens the mobile build.
Menus, carts and order status screens change often. Over-the-air updates make frequent content and logic fixes practical.
Feeds, profiles and notifications map well to React components, and the same team can support the website and the app.
React Native saves the most when there is something to reuse. If your React web app already has typed API clients, validation rules and a component library, the mobile build starts further along. A brand-new product with no web code still saves by sharing one codebase across iOS and Android.
Costs go up with native modules, legacy upgrades and offline sync. Moving an old app to the New Architecture can be a project of its own if several libraries are unmaintained, and custom Swift or Kotlin modules add specialist time.
Mobile apps at SIZ Group start at $4,500. Final cost depends on scope and is confirmed in writing after a free consultation, where we also tell you how much of your existing code can be shared.

Yes, especially for teams already using React. The New Architecture removed the old bridge bottleneck, and Hermes improves startup time and memory use. It remains a weaker fit for games and AR-heavy apps.
For most new apps we recommend Expo. Development builds and config plugins support custom native code, so the old reasons to avoid Expo mostly no longer apply. We use a bare setup when an SDK needs deep native project changes that a config plugin cannot handle.
Business logic, API calls, types, validation and data hooks are usually shared. UI components are less portable, because mobile layouts and native views differ from HTML and CSS. We set up a monorepo so the shared parts stay in one place.
It can use cameras, Bluetooth, biometrics, push notifications and background tasks through maintained libraries. When a library does not exist, we write a native module in Swift and Kotlin and expose it to JavaScript with typed bindings.
Since 2018 we have designed and developed 678 apps for more than 465 clients. As a React Native app development company we also write native iOS and Android code, so we can solve problems at the platform level instead of working around them.
Yes. We begin with an audit of the React Native version, dependencies, architecture flags and crash reports. You get a prioritized upgrade plan before any work starts.
