Overview

Enterprise apps are judged by IT before users ever see them

Enterprise mobile app development is a different job from building a consumer app. A field service tool, a sales companion or a warehouse scanner has to pass a security review, enroll under mobile device management, sign users in with corporate credentials and pull data from an ERP that was never designed for phones. The interface matters, but those requirements decide whether the app is allowed onto a single device.

SIZ Group is an Austin based team founded in 2018. We have designed and developed 678 apps for more than 465 clients, and we plan enterprise projects around the questions your IT, security and procurement teams will ask. That means architecture diagrams, data flow notes and a clear answer about where every piece of data is stored.

This page covers apps for employees, partners and managed devices. If you are launching a public consumer app, our iOS, Android and cross-platform pages are the better starting point.

What we deliver

What our enterprise app development company delivers

Most enterprise engagements combine several of these, scoped to what your internal teams already own.

01

SSO integration and identity

We connect sign in to Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Ping or Google Workspace using OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0 with PKCE, or SAML through your identity provider. Role and group claims from the token drive what each user can see, so access is managed in one place.

02

MDM and app protection

We build apps that behave correctly under MDM tools such as Microsoft Intune and Jamf. That includes managed app configuration through the AppConfig standard, Intune App SDK policies for copy, paste and save restrictions, and per app VPN where your network requires it.

03

ERP, CRM and HR integration

We connect mobile apps to SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce, ServiceNow and Workday through their APIs or a middleware layer. Where a legacy system has no usable API, we build a small backend service that exposes only what the app needs.

04

Offline first field apps

Technicians, drivers and inspectors often work in basements, warehouses and rural sites. We store data in an encrypted local database, queue changes while offline and resolve conflicts on sync with rules your operations team agrees to.

05

Security hardening and review support

We apply OWASP MASVS guidance, encrypt data at rest and in transit, store secrets in the iOS Keychain and Android Keystore and add certificate pinning where it suits your setup. We prepare documentation for your security team and fix findings from penetration tests.

06

Private distribution

Internal apps rarely belong on the public stores. We distribute through Apple Business Manager as custom apps, through managed Google Play as private apps, or directly through your MDM, and we keep signing certificates and profiles under your organization's accounts.

Why SIZ Group

Why IT and product leaders choose us for business mobile apps

Enterprise projects stall when the vendor treats security review and integration as someone else's problem. We take on that work directly, sit in calls with your identity and infrastructure teams, and document decisions so the app can be maintained after the original developers move on.

We hire only the top 4% of developer applicants, and our team brings more than 10 years of collective experience. Apps we have built have passed 10 million downloads in total, so our engineers have dealt with scale, OS upgrade cycles and long lived codebases.

  • Security first architectureData classification, storage location and token handling are decided in the design phase, not patched in before review.
  • Works with your identity stackWe integrate with the identity provider you already use instead of building a separate login that IT has to manage.
  • Documentation your team can ownArchitecture notes, API contracts and runbooks are delivered with the code so internal staff can support the app.
  • Long term maintenanceSupport plans cover yearly iOS and Android releases, library updates, certificate renewals and security patches.
How we work

Our enterprise mobile app development process

One team from first call to launch, with demos at every milestone.

01

Discovery with IT and operations

We meet the business owner, the IT lead and a few real users to map workflows, systems and constraints. The output is a scope document listing integrations, identity setup, device policy and data sensitivity.

02

Architecture and security design

We produce an architecture diagram, data flow and threat notes for your security team to review. Approval at this stage prevents expensive rework later.

03

Design and clickable prototype

We design screens around the actual tasks users perform, often with large touch targets and fast scan or capture flows. A clickable prototype is tested with a small group of employees before development starts.

04

Build, integrate and test

Development runs in sprints with integration against test or sandbox instances of your systems. Testing covers devices enrolled in your MDM, offline scenarios, role based access and findings from your security review.

05

Rollout and support

We help with a pilot group, then a staged rollout through your MDM or private store channel. After launch we monitor crashes and sync errors and keep the app current with each OS release.

Who it's for

Industries that rely on enterprise mobility

Field service and utilities

Work orders, asset inspections, photo capture and signatures that keep working without a signal.

Logistics and warehousing

Barcode and label scanning on rugged Android devices, proof of delivery and live driver status.

Healthcare operations

Staff scheduling, internal communication and inventory tools built with care for privacy rules such as HIPAA where patient data is involved.

Retail and sales teams

Product catalogs, store audits and CRM companion apps that let sales staff update accounts from the floor or the road.

Pricing

What drives the cost of an enterprise app

The biggest variable is integration. An app that reads from one well documented REST API is far simpler than one that writes back to SAP, Salesforce and a legacy database with different data models. Each system adds discovery, test environment access and error handling work.

Identity and device requirements are the second driver. SSO with role mapping, MDM app protection policies, offline sync with conflict resolution and security review remediation all add effort, and so does supporting both company owned and personal devices. Clear answers on these points during scoping keep the estimate accurate.

Mobile apps at SIZ Group start at $4,500, though enterprise builds usually sit above that because of integration and security work. We confirm scope and price in writing after a free scoping call with your business and IT leads.

Frequently asked questions

What is enterprise mobile app development?+

Enterprise mobile app development is the design and build of apps used by employees, partners or business customers, usually connected to company systems and managed by IT. Compared with consumer apps, it puts more weight on identity, device management, data security and integration with tools like ERP and CRM.

Can the app use our existing company login?+

Yes. We implement SSO integration with your identity provider so users sign in with their corporate account, and multi factor rules you already enforce still apply. Access can be removed centrally when someone leaves the company.

Does the app work with Intune or Jamf?+

We build apps to support MDM from the start. That includes managed configuration so IT can push settings, Intune app protection policies where required, and testing on devices enrolled in your MDM environment.

How do internal apps get onto employee devices?+

For iOS, the usual route is a custom app distributed privately through Apple Business Manager and pushed by your MDM. For Android, we publish a private app through managed Google Play. Neither route makes the app visible to the general public.

Can employees use the app without internet access?+

Yes, if offline use is in scope. We cache the data each role needs, let users create and edit records offline, and sync changes when the connection returns using conflict rules agreed with your team.

Will you sign an NDA and work with our security team?+

Yes. We sign NDAs before detailed discussions, share architecture and data flow documents for review, and fix findings from your internal or third party penetration tests as part of the project.
